Hei! Vă mulțumesc și eu! Totul a început când aveam 15 ani.

ENGLISH VERSION

First of all: thank you! Tell us how it all began.

Hey! Thank you too! It all began when I was 15 years old. My friend showed me some electronic music and then I started to be more interested in it. Then I discovered Drum & Bass and instantly fell in love with it. After some time I wanted to try my own songs. I didn’t know anything about it, but I always loved music so I downloaded FL Studio and spent a lot of time with it and it lasts until today!

It’s no secret that, as an artist, you draw inspiration from the likes of Command Strange, Intelligent Manners, Malaky, Hybrid Minds, Maduk and many more.  What other non DNB artists or bands have influenced your musical tastes?

Yes, those are few of my favourite producers. Honestly I’ve been listening to DNB only but I felt like I need a  change last few weeks so I started listening to house,2step/garage,trap and genres like that. From other music genres I really love producers like Himalia, Shadow Child, Enigma Dubz, and Synkro to name a few. From bands I like Coldplay and The XX. Every name I mentioned is a big inspiration for me..

Is it correct to state that your style has evolved over time, and if so, do you think your coming of age has anything to do with it?

I think it’s better to start at young age and then just keep working on yourself!

As a young female dnb producer, were there any age and/or gender related challenges that you had to face in this scene?

There wasn’t any I think, only a lot of people ask me how old I am because I look much younger than I am.

Is it an advantage or disadvantage to live in a small country in terms of the dnb scene? Are you famous in Slovakia?

To be honest, my country is not the best place to live but actually we have a good DNB scene here. Few promoters are doing here a nice job and they make sick parties with amazing names (big ups to DJ Lixx and Drumatique crew!). We have quite a lot parties in our capital city Bratislava and the community is big. But I think that the scene in whole Europe is nice, not only in Slovakia. I can’t really say if I am famous, but I think that most of the people who are into liquid DNB knows me.

I know you wanted to switch from FL Studio 10 to Logic Pro last summer. What is your set up now?

I wanted to switch to Logic because Im using Mac OS X now. I had it but I couldnt figure it out and didnt want to spend a lot of time by learning it and not making any music. However we have Logic in studio and sometimes I work on it little and learn things because my mates are using it.

What was the most exciting DNB-related moment in your life?

The biggest moment was definitely the offer from Fokuz Recordings to release my track with Malaky on 12” vinyl. I think its a dream of every producer and I am so thankful to have this opportunity. Thanks to Marco and whole Fokuz family! If I can mention another moment I guess it was a chance to perform at Liquicity Amsterdam last year.

How did you feel being invited to warm up the crowd for the Hospitality event in Slovakia back in 2013? What are the top 5 events you would like to play at?

Hospitality Slovakia was my second or third gig since I started DJing so it was quite wow! I didn’t expect it. When I think about it now I wish I could play there again because I’ve been so stressed and didn’t enjoy it that much as I was new to that thing and felt really shy haha! Top 5 events are definitely Sun And Bass in Sardinia, Outlook Festival, another official Hospitality in London or any good city, Urban Art Forms festival in Austria and maybe Rampage in Belgium!

Name a couple of artists you would absolutely love to have a B2B set with?

Definitely would love to spin some beats with LSB or Hybrid Minds!

What’s next for Changing Faces? Where do you see yourself in the future?

I just finished high school so now I have a lot of time to work on music. I have a lot of ideas in mind. I am sure there will be some new EPs and singles as well as collaborations with good producer friends. Got some sick gigs ahead and hopefully will get much more! I also started my second non DNB alias where I make future garage/2step/house/trap and pretty much anything else. My mind is full of music and ideas!

Is there any label out there you would be willing to sign to exclusively?

My favourite label was and is Fokuz Recordings but I am already a part of it, which is very nice and I am so happy about it. But of course it would be amazing to sign to Hospital Records and be a part of their crew. I think thats a little dream of every young DNB producer..
